On 16th May 2024, HCLI CXO Dr. Nadir Zafar moderated a discussion at the World HR Congress 2024 on Hyper Growth vs. Sustainability. The panel featuring Ms. Ong Chin Yin, CPO of Grab, and Dr. Prithvi Singh Shergill, CEO of entomo, discussed their experiences scaling up in hypergrowth companies, and how to ensure sustainable growth.
Chin Yin Ong shared that for young companies to grow quickly, an organisation has to keep things simple and make sure their systems and values can change and improve as they get bigger. She iterated the importance of being flexible and adjusting quickly, having open communication, and keeping one’s team healthy. Prithvi Shergill then expounded on how crucial it is to have clear, lasting goals and effective communication in every organisation. He explained that true leadership is not just giving orders, but about talking openly, working together, and sharing ideas.
HCLI was proud to be a learning partner of this event, which attracted over a thousand people and brought in speakers such as DBS CEO Piyush Gupta, HR guru Dave Ulrich and Banyan Tree founder KP Ho.
