Reskilling in the Age of AI

We were honored to have Anish Lalchandani, an alumni of HCLI’s HR Leaders Programme and top influencer in HR and the future of work, share valuable insights on reskilling in today’s AI-powered era. He explored key trends, essential strategies and frameworks for managing the changes brought about by AI, emphasising the importance of sustainability, scalability, and a people-centric approach.

• Empathy will be the key skill that differentiates humans from machines and is a skill we will have to develop.
• Change management is another key skill needed, as we deal with disruptions caused by rapid technological advancements.
• Companies need to treat upskilling as an ongoing programme for their employees, and not a one-off event.
• Hiring needs to be based on skills and experience, not degrees. There are some major companies that are already doing this, but more need to get on board.
• Companies need to create and promote development opportunities for employees so they can learn and contribute.
