Alex Hungate, President & CEO, SATS

Alex Hungate is the President and Chief Executive Officer of SATS, with overall responsibility for leading the SATS Group. He is a Board Director and a member of the Board Executive Committee. Mr Hungate joined SATS as Executive Director in July 2013 and assumed his current role on 1 January 2014.

Prior to that, Alex was the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Singapore. He joined HSBC in 2007 as Group Managing Director of Personal Financial Services and Marketing, based in London. With over 25 years of global leadership experience, Mr Hungate also served as the Managing Director, Asia Pacific for Reuters, based in Hong Kong, and Co-Chief Executive Officer, Americas and Global Chief Marketing Officer for Reuters, based in New York.

Alex first joined the SATS board as an Independent Director in July 2011.

He serves as a Board Member of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), member of the Future Economy Council, and Independent Director of United Overseas Bank (UOB) Limited.

He holds a Master's degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University and graduated as a Baker Scholar from the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at Harvard.

Doris Sohmen-Pao, CEO, HCLI

Doris Sohmen-Pao is Chief Executive Officer at the Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI). Her career spans across education, human capital and media. Before HCLI, Doris worked as an advisor to the Singapore Public Service Division, helping develop relationships and synergies between the public and private sector. Doris has worked in a number of educational institutions and was part of the inaugural leadership team at Yale-NUS College where she was responsible for all non-academic matters.  She also helmed the MBA programmes at Singapore Management University and INSEAD and has been deeply involved with Princeton University where she has served on the Board of Trustees.  Previously, Doris led recruiting and HR at Bain & Co.’s Southeast Asia practice as Director of Human Capital. Her media experience stems from her work at Time Inc. where she was based in their London and Hong Kong offices and led their international new media practice.

In addition to HCLI, Doris currently serves on the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, Singapore National Gallery, IHRP boards and is a member of the EXCO of the Singapore chapter of the International Women’s Forum.

Lewis Garrad, Partner, Career Business Leader, Singapore, Mercer

Lewis Garrad is Partner and business leader for Mercer’s Singapore Career business. Voted a top 101 Global Future of Work Influencer, he is regular contributor to publications such as the Harvard Business Review and Talent Quarterly  and speaker in the areas of people science, HR data, employee engagement and leadership.

In his commercial work, he leads a team of economist, social scientists, engineers and consultants to help clients and customers implement data-driven reward, talent, leadership and employee engagement programs to improve organizational performance.

Lewis has supported the development of several organization and HR capabilities programs, including a leading role in the development of the national Skills Frameworks in Singapore. He has deep expertise in making people programs relevant for C-level executives in global companies as well as facilitating senior leadership teams to help them unlock leadership effectiveness.  

Lewis is chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) as an Occupational Psychologist; he graduated from the University of Nottingham in the UK with an MSc in Occupational Psychology and a First Class Honours BSc in Psychology & Cognitive Neuroscience. Lewis is also qualified by the British Psychological Society to use both ability tests and personality questionnaires to assess talent.

Stephanie Nash, Co-creator,Thrive HR Exchange & Chief People Officer, ChapmanV

Stephanie Nash is the Co-creator of Thrive HR Exchange and Chief People Officer at ChapmanV. In this role, she provides strategic direction and advisory services across a broad portfolio of business interests and innovations in human resources. This includes ChapmanCG, a global HR executive search firm, the Thrive HR Exchange, an online community platform for HR professionals shaping the future of work and investments in HR technology start-ups.

Prior to joining ChapmanCG, Stephanie held the role of Chief People Officer at RedMart, where she oversaw the growth of the Singapore-based technology and ecommerce platform through the sale to Lazada-Alibaba Group..

Stephanie has more than two decades’ experience as a human resources leader working across the United States, Asia, Australia and South America. During this time, she served in senior HR roles for Fortune 500 companies, including Vice President of Human Resources Asia-Pacific at Allergen, Senior Director Human Resources Asia Pacific at Microsoft, and Group Manager, Human Resources, Base Metals at BHP Billiton. Throughout her career, she has worked across a range of industries, business units, functional areas and geographies in local, multi-country and global capacities.

She also serves as an Advisor to the Workplace Accelerator, Panarchy Partners and the Capture App.

Stephanie is originally from the United States, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Syracuse University, as well as a Diploma in Human Resources Management from the University of California, Berkeley.
