Overview

Asia’s economic rise continues to reshape global dynamics, placing the region at the heart of key developments in trade, technology, and innovation. As board members steer their organisations through this rapid evolution, they face a highly complex landscape in an increasingly VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world.

Naturally, the acceleration of digital transformation and technological advancements presents significant risks. According to KPMG’s report On the Board Agenda: Top challenges facing boards and board committees in 2024, some of the top priorities facing boards this year include trade and geopolitical tensions, technology and business model disruption, advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and heightened cybersecurity risks, amongst others.

Cultural diversity across Asia’s markets offers growth opportunities but also poses challenges in aligning board culture and decision-making practices with local nuances. Moreover, the internal dynamics of board culture itself can either drive or hinder effective governance. Ensuring a board culture that fosters collaboration, innovation, and ethical leadership is crucial for navigating these external risks. Cases such as the recent OpenAI saga demonstrate the vital need for coherence and unity between board and corporate leadership.

The 2025 Asia Board Leadership Summit will address these critical issues, equipping board members with the tools and strategies needed to manage technology and innovation risks, navigate cultural complexities, and respond to geopolitical challenges. Through collaborative sessions and expert insights, the Summit will prepare boards to lead with agility, resilience, and a forward-thinking approach in Asia’s rapidly evolving landscape.

Who Should Attend?

Board Chairs, Board Committee Chairs, Independent Directors, Executive and Non-Executive Directors and CEOs of listed and private corporations including family-owned businesses, government agencies and not-for-profit organisations
