Faced with corporate scandals such as corruption, money laundering, impropriety and unethical conduct, the business landscape today is perilous. For boards, it is imperative to shift the focus towards the company’s purpose and role in society, corporate culture, values and ethics. Scrutiny is increasingly directed towards board directors and a change of mindset of corporate leaders is required—which is critical to companies that plan to survive in the 21st century.
The Directors-in-Dialogue session will address the following topics:
- Dealing with challenges of corporate governance in a complex world of business
- The independence of directors in making judgement calls
- The united collective mind of the board
- Restoring trust in the company
Through lectures, dialogue and the exchange of thoughts, ideas and experiences, this session explores the future role, skillsets and mindsets required of board directors. We will provide tools and ways to help you as a board director, as well as the board as a team, see the bigger picture, identify potential risks and opportunities and build trust not only with the company’s shareholders but also the broader group of stakeholders that are affected by the company’s activities.
